Hello NC MUFON Members and Friends,

In late September, I accepted appointment as State Director for the North Carolina chapter of MUFON.  Steven White, who has served as SD for NC since early 2011,  has remained as Chief Investigator during the transition.  Under Steve's direction our chapter has been re-established, and at this writing, ranks  2nd  in the US, in cases reported and investigations completed.  Steve volunteers his time and expertise in several areas of MUFON, and he continues to work to improve our national network.  We thank Steve for his work and assistance here in NC, and look forward to continuing to grow our chapter in the future.

Israel Curiel, Public Relations Director for NC, has been instrumental in re-booting MUFON-NC in the last 18 months.  He maintains this website, organizes meetings, as well as doing data analysis for MUFON.  We have 6 Field Investigators in NC at this time, and it is their dedication and diligent work that is the base for our data collection and research.

As State Director, my goal is to maintain MUFON's directive of scientific investigation of sighting reports, and objective assessment of cases.  I also hope to expand our network in NC with additional Field Investigators, and more members involved in the study of this mysterious subject of UFOs.  My background includes teaching English, and Natural Science/Environmental  Education.  I have had a life-long interest in Ufology, and started attending MUFON meetings about 12 years ago.  Since then I have focused my study and research on learning more about the UFO phenomenon.  In May, 2011 I became a Field Investigator for North Carolina, and I continue to investigate reports submitted to the Case Management System.  As an educator, I have a specific interest in advancing public UFO Education, and have begun presentations of a UFO slide program to community groups.

I am excited to serve as your State Director, and honored to work with the NC team.  If anyone would like to get more involved, or is interested in becoming a Field Investigator, you can contact me by e-mail or phone.  North Carolina has become very active with UFO sightings, and there is a great need for those who have an interest, to get involved in UFO research.
