I am writing this article partly out of frustration. It is frustrating to talk to hundreds of people all over the state of North Carolina that are afraid to share their stories. UFO sightings are far more common than you can imagine. Everywhere we go we always hear new stories. People often ask us if we think the witnesses that give us their stories are imagining them, making them up, or are simply "not quite right". The truth is that the witnesses that we frequently talk to are outstanding citizens of this great state. Even Fife Symington, former governor of Arizona admitted to seeing the Phoenix lights years after he left office. Watch the YouTube video in this article for more details. I have dared to speak publicly about UFOs and Abductions, and yes I have received plenty of ridicule and jokes. The worst part is when people that barely know me think that I am misguided. I am here to tell you that the data analysis and the trends that we see and document, do not reflect the traits of misguided people. MUFON's mission is "The scientific study of the UFO phenomena for the benefit of humanity".  Misguided people do not spend months and years researching the history, and speaking to hundreds of people about both sightings and abductions. It never fails to amaze me how many people have had sightings that they have never shared with friends, and sometimes even spouses and other family members.

For those of you that have not shared your story, let me assure you that you are not alone. If you are a successful executive woman at a large corporation that has had multiple unexplained pregnancies and mysteriously lost the children, you are not alone. If you are the owner of a large company with hundreds of employees and you have seen many UFOs and you have experienced missing time, you are not alone. If you are a high school teacher and you live in a small town that has seen many UFOs but no one talks about it, you are not alone. If you are an optical engineer that sees UFOs on a monthly basis, you are not alone. If you saw a UFO and you went outside to see it, and the next thing you know you are waking up in your bed the next morning, you are not alone.  If you feel you have experienced an abduction but you have not said anything to your family, let me tell you, you need to talk to them. Often you are not the only person in your family that feels this way. And again, you and your family are not alone. If you are an adult and you have young children that talk about the little doctors in the white coats that come and see them at night, you are not alone. If you are the owner of a small company and you and your wife saw a UFO in broad daylight, just off a NC beach sucking up water from the ocean, you are not alone. If you are a commercial pilot and were looking over the ocean from a Myrtle Beach highrise when you saw a massive dark triangle shape moving in the water, ejecting orange orbs into the sky, you are not alone.

I could go on and on with these examples. The truth is that so many people have had these experiences, but we as a society refuse to talk about the subject openly. We have no one to blame but ourselves. It is only when people come to our meetings and they start sharing their stories, everyone starts to open up. And let me tell you, for those of you that come to the meetings but don't share your stories, please consider coming to the dinners after the meeting. You would be thankful for the stories that others will share. The biggest compliments we frequently receive are "Thank you. We thought we were going crazy and now we know others are experiencing the same thing".

So I will close with a request of you, our NC readers. Please, if you don't file your case with MUFON UFO Reports, please talk to your friends and family. You will be amazed who has stories of their own.
